It has no exterior pockets. The upper chest area has light padding. It has its entire set of 24 original gold plastic Queens crown, Royal Marines buttons produced by Firmin.
The interior of the coat is fully lined with the body covered in black satin and the sleeves in cream. Just above the cuff on the right sleeve is the Royal Coat of Arms which has been beautifully embroidered on black wool in gold and silver wire bullion. The high stand up collar previously had collar badges sewn on but these have since been removed and are attached to the left shoulder lapel in a clear plastic bag. The Royal Marines collar badges are of a silver globe surrounded by embroidered gold laurels.The coat has two ribbons sewn on to the upper right hand side which show the medals that the individual was awarded. These were the Golden Jubilee Medal 2002 and the Long Service & Good Conduct Medal (LS&GCM), this medal is awarded by the British Government to members of the British Armed Forces who have completed 15 years of reckonable service. The coat measures approximately 47 inches (19.5 cm) long from collar to hem, 26.5 inches (66 cm) from waist to hem, 18 inches (46 cm) across the shoulders and 17 inches (43 cm) across the waist. The chest size is 40 1/8 inches. The sleeves are 22 ½ inches long. This coat weighs approximately 3.2 kg. The coat is in very decent condition for its age. The exterior and lining both look to be good. The overall stitching is fine. The only area where there is any noticeable damage is where the collar badges have been removed and some threads still remains. However the collar badges are still present. The buttons are all intact and original. The coat has no noticeable tears or moth damage.
