J C Cox Hm Royal Letter Patent Post Office Counter Stamp Dispenser

Here we have a rare item, it is a J C Cox, by her majesty's royal letter patents, a Victorian shop counter Post Office Stamp Dispenser made in Mahogany and Brass, there are 72 separate compartments for storing either stamps or coins, the central section allows coins to be inserted in the brass slots and they drop down, via the wooden peg steps, into the drawer at the bottom, which still has the original working lock and key. Both side sections still have their original heavy glass backs and the central section lifts out and also has it's original glass back. There is a large amount of old coins present with it and there is also a coin set into the wood work between the two hollowed out coin holders.
