I have for sale a 1972 pattern Denison Smock. The last iteration of the Denisons, this Smock Camouflage is a very desirable size 3, fitting up to 510 height and 44 chest.

I have owned many of these over the past few years and this has to be without a doubt one of the best. The colours are just exquisite with no hint of fading or marks, names etc.

Often these would have been pleated in the back to make them more fitted leading to dark areas when removed but none of this with this example. The label is nice and clear showing size, description, makers name and contract details.

It still has the tail flap which are so often removed and has the genuine Newey press studs all round. The inside of the collar shows no sign of wear whatsoever and the cuffs which I think are the originals are amazing for a 40 / 50 year old smock. Also still present are the side adjusters that again are quite often removed. The smocks have 2 breast pockets and 2 side pockets, each with a heavy duty Newey press stud fastenings. There are also 2 inner breast pockets.

Made from heavy cotton material these are the iconic smocks of the Parachute Regiment and other special forces of the 1970s in Northern Ireland and with some even making it as far the Falklands War in the 80s. It has the benefit of an original Queens Crown on the lower right arm denoting the owner was of the rank of Company Sergeant Major / Warrant Officer Class 2 (WO2), which no doubt accounts for the overall condition. It retains also the original zipper and pull which is nice and smooth and not notchy or tight. Whilst the press studs all retain the original green paint the are some scratches to some and I have photographed the worst.

There has also been the slightest of darning to one cuff and a couple of period repairs which again I have photographed. None of these detract from this smock in any way and wouldnt be noticeable in use. Any questions please ask, likewise happy to send any extra photos.
