CANOEIST / BEACH RECCE SMOCK SAS / SBS........ Many Thanks Sir Victorian is my collecting passion...
Interesting that it has'Africa General Service' Ribbon Awarded 1902 (onwards).... A more rare ribbon than the Boer War QSA KSA ribbon.... I would say its pre WW1 and around 1910, i have a 12th lancers in almost the same pattern. Please refer main description and in particular photos for best condition report. This is rather an unusual tunic. The 5th Dragoon Guards were amalgamated in 1922 with the 6th. 5th Royal Inniskilling Dragoon Guards... 5th Royal Inniskilling Dragoon Guards Tunic dating from the 1920's... Apart from being a WW1 pattern of tunic... The brass shoulder titles are the "5TH Dragoon Guards" and to be the. 5th Royal Inniskilling Dragoon Guards. The shoulder titles also need to have castle motif!
Also both regiments before amalgamation had the same motto... Latin Motto "Vestigia Nulla Retrorsum We So Not Retreat".......... And although 5DG "Victorian" buttons have a 5 in the centre.......Rather than a 1920's. However please study photos to form your own opinion. Nevertheless a very nice original and complete collectors item. The tunic is also named so worthy of further research.
